The External Quality Assessment Scheme for Trace Elements was founded in 1978 by Dr Andrew Taylor at Royal Surrey County Hospital. In 1990 the Service became known as the UK National External Quality Assessment Service for Trace Elements. UK NEQAS for Trace Elements is part of the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
