PROGRAMME OF ANALYSIS:
Data entry is via the web for the submission of results. Data analysis is commenced 21 days after sample despatch. Late returns are accepted and will contribute to the laboratory's cumulative performance statistics.
Qualitative responses are recorded for each analyte and assessed in relation to the designated response
Laboratory performance is classified in terms of OMIS over a running analytical window of 6 distributions (12 months)
PERSISTENT POOR PERFORMANCE:
Defined as being in the poor performance category for two or more successive distributions

The External Quality Assessment Scheme for Immunology, Immunochemistry & Allergy (IIA) was founded in 1982 by Dr Anthony Milford Ward at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. In 1982 the Service became known as the UK National External Quality Assessment Service for Immunology, Immunochemistry & Allergy. UK NEQAS IIA is part of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
