PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Liam is a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Director of UK NEQAS for Leucocyte Immunophenotyping, working to deliver EQA services to clinical flow cytometry and molecular haemato-oncology laboratories both nationally and internationally. He has over 25 years of NHS laboratory and Flow Cytometry experience and has worked within External Quality Assessment for over 20 years. He has lectured at national and international meetings (Belgium, Denmark, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, India, Italy, Kuwait, Netherlands, Norway, UK, USA) and has directed Flow Cytometry workshops in Kuwait, South Africa, Thailand and the UK. Liam is an author/co-author on over 20 scientific peer reviewed publications covering various aspects of Flow Cytometry and molecular genetics.
- Worked within the NHS since 1990, qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist in Haematology whilst working at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield in 1992
- Transferred to UK NEQAS for Leucocyte Immunophenotyping, based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (now part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals) in 1998.
