UK NEQAS Cellular Pathology Technique (CPT)

Full time Scheme Director for UK NEQAS CPT, leading a "not for profit" organisation which provides a EQA and proficiency testing programmes and education, for all aspects of Cellular Pathology Diagnostics.

Delivers participants with a standardised accredited programmes, providing participants with an effective established method for evaluating laboratory practice, using validated material of consistent quality, for a range of challenges and detail necessary to demonstrate their quality and performance. Ensuring regular bi monthly distributions, also provides them with the data necessary to anticipate and mitigate problems before they occur and anonymously compare their performance against those of other participants.

Produces and delivers educational content to Cellular Pathology laboratories and organisations worldwide to support training and development and promote best practice and innovation.

Provides expert support for identifying problems, accessing troubleshooting expertise, and supporting efforts to improve the quality of care provided to patients, including learning and continuous improvement.

  • 30 years' experience in Cellular Pathology and Immunocytochemistry, both in a research and diagnostic setting
  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS), and Chartered Scientist (CSci)
  • IBMS and Science Council Professional Portfolio Assessor
  • Lead and collaborator in a number of research projects into cancer, transplant and cellular pathology disorders, in collaboration with clinical teams
  • Guest Lecturer at a number of international Universities
  • Key speaker at international meetings and conferences
  • Named author and contributor too international texts and journals.
